We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of enterprise data engineering frameworks and data products. This role combines deep technical expertise in modern data technologies with strategic thinking about scalable, reusable data platform components. The successful candidate will drive the evolution of our data infrastructure while delivering high-quality data products that enable business insights and decision-making.

Data Engineering Excellence

• Design and implement scalable data ingestion patterns supporting high-volume, high-velocity data.
• Develop data transformation logic with complex business rules and multi-source data integration.
• Create data governance solutions with lineage tracking, access control, and compliance automation.
• Implement cost optimization strategies with intelligent resource allocation and scheduling.

Architecture & Strategy

• Lead technical architecture decisions for data platform evolution and technology selection.
• Mentor junior engineers in best practices for enterprise data engineering and cloud-native development.
• Drive code quality initiatives including testing strategies, documentation standards, and peer review processes.
• Collaborate with platform teams to integrate data solutions with enterprise infrastructure.

Innovation & Research

• Research and evaluate emerging technologies in the data engineering ecosystem.
• Prototype proof-of-concepts for new capabilities and technology integrations.
• Drive performance optimization initiatives and cost reduction strategies.
• Lead technical debt reduction and platform modernization efforts.

Programming Languages:

• Python (PySpark, pandas), SQL (complex queries, optimization), object oriented programming
• Hands-on experience with AI tools and AI-assisted (“vibe”) coding to accelerate development.

Big Data Technologies:

• Apache Spark 3.3+, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, GCS with BigLake

Cloud Platforms: 

• Microsoft Azure (storage, compute, networking, security), Azure Active Directory, Azure Monitor, Azure Data Factory
• Google Cloud: BigQuery, Dataproc, Cloud run, Cloud IAM

• Data Engineering: Schema design, data quality frameworks.
• DevOps & Automation: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM), CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration.
• Monitoring: Custom metrics and business event tracking, log aggregation.
